
Dr. Cockman’s recent concerto performances have included Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor with the Brevard Symphony Orchestra at Brevard Music Center, a wind ensemble premiere of Rachmaninov’s Concerto No. 2 with the Kansas City Wind Symphony, Stravinsky’s Concerto for Piano and Wind Instruments at Carnegie Hall and with the Jefferson City Symphony, and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Recent solo performances have included guest recitals at the Chautauqua Institution in New York; the North Dakota Music Teachers Association State Convention in Williston, ND; the University of Missouri in St. Louis, MO; and the Sherman Clay Steinway Center in Santa Clara, CA. In addition to performing the standard classical repertoire, Dr. Cockman creates his own arrangements using hymns and American tunes and enjoys improvisation and jazz. Residing in the Kansas City metropolitan area, he serves as a pianist and organist at his church.
