
Dr. Cockman currently serves as an Adjunct Professor/Artist in Residence at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO. He teaches Music History, Ear Training and Sight Singing, Music Theory, and private piano and organ lessons. Dr. Cockman also teaches private students of various ages and ability levels and frequently serves as an adjudicator and master class instructor.
Dr. Cockman's previous experience includes serving as a faculty-lecturer at the University of Kansas teaching private piano lessons. He also has experience teaching class piano and piano literature seminars.
Dr. Cockman uses a multidisciplinary approach to teaching. He has been known to incorporate organ techniques, improvisation and jazz in addition to technique, sight-reading and theory in his lessons while tailoring them to meet his students’ individual needs and interests.
